Overview of Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Professional Guide
The Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Professional Guide helps you to master the advanced PL/SQL concepts in Oracle 11g. The book is recommended for the Associate level Oracle professionals aspiring for Professional level. The topics covered and demonstrated are in line with the Oracle University prescription for Oracle Professional certification, which justify the version updates to be advanced and not complex.
The book aims to cover the advanced features of PL/SQL which are required to design and optimize the PL/SQL code. The recapitulation of PL/SQL programming and advanced features like collections, external procedures, server side result caching, implementing VPD to enforce row level security, handling large objects and SecureFiles build up a concrete platform for a PL/SQL professional. Apart from the programming, the book makes instrumental recommendations on the usage of development tool SQL Developer, employing best practices in database environments and safeguarding the vulnerable areas in PL/SQL code to avoid code injection.

ReplyDeleteWhat i like about your book is that the order of the content of books matches with the order of the certification requirements of exam topics of the 1Z0-146 exam.
ReplyDeleteLooking from the table of contents the book seems to have covered the exam topics in a very detailed manner & yet manage to be pitched as a "Blitz the 1Z0-146 exam".
The contents of the book seems to be great. It surely is an obvious buy for those preparing for the oracle certification. one more thing which I would want to say is that it covers all the topics. This book can also be a guide which can be kept in the office drawer and referred to when one is stuck while writing PL/SQL code.
ReplyDeleteGo to be my next buy.
Would like to read the sections on fine-grained access to VPD and PL/SQL code and SQL injections. Could work both as a reference as well as a daily-use book.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great book to make developments and serves as a reference we need to use PL / SQL
ReplyDeleteIt will be a great reference about PL/SQL, and it covers all issues about the 1Z0-146 exam!
ReplyDeleteall topics covered for 1z0-146...awsome.....need this book....
ReplyDeleteI’d like to win! this.................going to write the ocp next month..
ReplyDeleteReading the table of contents I could say this book is the most advanced book on pl/sql subject. Most of books simply describe syntax and basic concepts. What I most like of this book is the topics not seen before on another pl/sql book, especially related to tunning pl/sql to improve performance. I'll like to learn those topics. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLooked through the contents and I was trully impressed. I don't think there is an online resource with the equal amount of information in one place. I was particularly interested in reading topics for performance tweaking, as there are a lot of them. I think it is one of the best guides available on the market. The number of new acronims I have encountered in the table of contents is quite big :)
ReplyDeletesbhoracle.wordpress.com is wonderful. Thanks and keep up the excellent work!

ReplyDeleteThanks everybody for encouraging comments...
ReplyDeleteHi Saurabh,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all congrats for your gr8 work, and I downloaded your chapter 11 "Profiling and Tracing
PL/SQL Code", it is really nice way you have explained the things. looking for your complete book.
One more thing I want to tell, it would be nice if you can have xml parsing chapter,
in work almost 80% developer come across xml parsing with oracle [ i checked your content but i didn't find ], so this is my suggestion, but you have covered all the advanced topic
Good and gr8 job keep it up.
bye
Hi Vipul,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your reply and feedback!! As the book focuses on the 1z0-146 certification topics, XML concepts are not been covered in it.
I'll try to include it if I plan for my next book or writeup :)
Good to see a book directed at the certification. Up until now only Steve Feuerstein's book has been the recommendable for this, but it's not really intended for it & is quite a lot to go through. Thanks for the sample chapter.
ReplyDeleteThe quality of content and ablity to understand the book interests me.

ReplyDeletei would like to win a free copy
ReplyDeleteTable of Contents looks very good. Hope I have enough time to try all the examples. I assume the free copy includes the codes? Looking forward to trying out the LOBs actually, that is the most important exercise that I've been wanting to do.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeletemaybe you send one more free ebook to Poland. It's always worth to ask :)
Best Regards,
Lucas
Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this,
ReplyDeletelike you wrote the book in it or something.
I think that you could do with some pics to drive the
message home a bit, but instead of that, this is fantastic blog.
A fantastic read. I'll definitely be back.
